The primary purpose of CGS is to uniquely identify issuers and issues of financial instruments around the world within a standard framework, and disseminate this data to the financial marketplace.
CGS originates over 70% of all identifiers used in global securities transactions.
Instrument coverage includes debt, equity, warrants, preferreds, units, UITs, CDs, medium term notes, commercial paper, mortgage-backed, private placement numbers (PPNs), and corporate bonds.
