S&P 500 O-Strip
As a subset of S&P 500, S&P 500 O-Strip is an equity index comprised of those stocks of the S&P 500 that are listed on the NASDAQ. The total market cap of the S&P 500 O-Strip will be the same as that of S&P 500. Therefore, S&P 500 O-Strip's proportional weight of any stock will be larger than that in the S&P 500.
Index constituents exhibit the following characteristics:
- Underlying Indices – Subset of S&P 500
- Weighting – Market capitalization
- Rebalancing – Coincide with S&P 500 adjustments
Index Governance and Policy
This index is maintained by the S&P Index Committee, whose members include Standard & Poor's economists and index analysts. It follows a set of published guidelines and policies that provide the transparent methodologies used to maintain the index.
