S&P/ASX All Australian 200
Launched in June 2007, the S&P/ASX All Australian 200 is made up of ASX listed securities that have been defined as “domestic” or “Australian” for index purposes. It is comprised of highly liquid constituents that are considered to be 200 of the largest index-eligible Australian securities listed on the ASX by float-adjusted market capitalization. It follows the same index construction rules relating to market capitalization and liquidity that are applied to the S&P/ASX 200. The only exception relates to the index eligibility of securities, with eligibility extending to Australian securities only.
Index constituents exhibit the following characteristics:
- Weighting – Market capitalization
- Public Float – Adjusted for available shares
Index Governance and Policy
This index is maintained by the S&P Australian Index Committee, comprised of five members representing both Standard & Poor’s and the Australian Securities Exchange. They follow a set of published guidelines and policies that provide the transparent methodologies used to maintain the indices.
