The S&P/ASX 300 Metals & Mining Index is based on the S&P/ASX 300 Index, and is comprised of companies that are classified as being in the Metals & Mining industry. It includes producers of aluminium, gold, steel, precious metals and minerals and also diversified metals and minerals.

Index constituents exhibit the following characteristics:

• Underlying Indices - S&P/ASX 300
• Weighting – Market capitalization
• Public Float – Adjusted for available shares

Index Governance and Policy
This index is maintained by the S&P Australian Index Committee, comprised of five members representing both the Australian Stock Exchange and Standard & Poor's. They follow a set of published guidelines and policies that provide the transparent methodologies used to maintain the indices.
