Fund Description
Bell Aliant, is an unincorporated open-ended trust, which holds an indirect 55% interest in Wireline L.P. Wireline L.P. is the operating entity, which holds the wireline assets (Aliant Wireline) of Aliant Inc., as well as 1.6 million regional lines. BCE and Bell Canada, combined, hold the remaining 45% interest in Wireline L.P. Wireline L.P. has approximately 3.2 million local lines in service throughout Atlantic Canada, as well as low population density areas in Quebec and Ontario. In addition, Bell Aliant owns 100% of Bell Nordiq Group Inc. (BNG). BNG holds a 63.4% in Telebec L.P. and NorthernTel L.P., with the Bell Nordiq Income Fund (SR-2/Stable) holding the remaining 36.4% in the partnerships. Although NorthernTel and Telebec are separate legal entities, they operate essentially as a single company with a single senior management team, which is expected to remain in place following close.
