The S&P/TSX Canadian Indices provide investable indices for the Canadian equity markets. While the indices are calculated and managed by S&P Indices, the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) is the owner and distributor of all S&P/TSX equity index data.
These indices are designed to be both representative of the Canadian equity market and its sectors, and liquid in order to support investment products such as index mutual funds, exchange traded funds, index portfolios, and index futures and options. Indices include:
- S&P/TSX Composite, the headline and broadest index is the basis for numerous sub-indices .
- S&P/TSX 60 represents the large cap universe for Canada offering exposure to 60 large, liquid Canadian companies, this index is the basis for the most highly traded futures contract in Canada.
