Ombudsman

Office of the Ombudsman

For over 145 years Standard & Poor’s has stood for independence, objectivity and transparency in the financial markets. Clients, employees and market participants who use or produce S&P products, services and opinions expect that our business is free of conflicts and that we maintain the highest standards of independence, quality and transparency. The Office of the Ombudsman serves as another way for S&P to fulfill that expectation.

At S&P, our Ombudsman will listen to issues and concerns and ensure that all channels within the Company to resolve those issues have been effectively utilized. Although not every issue or concern can be resolved to the satisfaction of all parties, the processes to be followed by the Office of the Ombudsman will offer a balanced and independent approach to resolution.

The Ombudsman reports to the CEO and Chairman of McGraw-Hill, Harold McGraw III, and also has accountability up through the Audit Committee of the McGraw-Hill Board of Directors.
