The S&P Global Eco Index is comprised of 30 of the largest publicly traded companies in ecology related industries that meet specific investability requirements. The index is designed to provide liquid exposure to the leading publicly listed companies in these industries.
The index is part of the S&P Global Thematic Indices, which is designed to provide liquid exposure to emerging investment themes that cut across traditional industry definitions and geographical boundaries. The index includes stocks in six different clusters which represent ecology related industries. To create diversified exposure across different ecological related industry clusters, five constituents are chosen from each of the six industry clusters represented in the index.
Index constituents exhibit the following characteristics:
Weighting – Modified capitalization weighted
Market Capitalization – At least US$ 1 billion
Liquidity - Three month average daily volume of at least US$ 2 million
Reconstitution – Annual

This index is maintained by the S&P Global Thematic Index Committee, whose members include Standard & Poor’s economists and index analysts. It follows a set of published rules and policies that provide the transparent methodologies used to maintain the index.
