Tracks the market performance of U.S. Real Estate Investment Trusts, known as REITs. Consists of 100 REITs chosen for their liquidity and importance in representing a diversified real estate portfolio.

Index constituents exhibit the following characteristics:
  • Underlying Indices – S&P Composite 1500
  • Market Coverage – Approximately 89% of the securitized U.S. REIT market
  • Weighting – Market capitalization
  • Unadjusted Market Capitalization – At least US$ 100 million
Index Governance and Policy
This index is maintained by the S&P Index Committee, whose members include Standard & Poor's economists and index analysts. It follows a set of published guidelines and policies that provide the transparent methodologies used to maintain the index.
