Style Indices Explained (Power Point Presentation)
Standard & Poor's will offer two new sets of Growth and Value indices for the U.S. market - Style and Pure Style indices. The complementary index series will divide the S&P 500, the S&P MidCap 400, and the S&P SmallCap 600 into sub-indices designed to track the growth and value portions of each index. The Style series will be exhaustive and multi-factor. The Pure Style series will focus on those companies exhibiting strong growth or strong value characteristics. Standard & Poor's will also maintain the two style series for the S&P Composite 1500, S&P 900 and S&P 1000.
