Compustat Historical Data
Unparalleled Depth

Compustat provides unmatched company history back to 1950, providing key restated and unrestated data for backtesting. Below is a list of the specialty files available:

Compustat Inactive: Data on approximately 6,600 companies that are no longer traded due to acquisition or merger, bankruptcy, leveraged buyout or change of status to a private company. Up to 48 quarters of history and 132 data items. Quarterly files are also available.

Compustat Historical: Historical annual and quarterly restated Compustat (North America) data for testing models and validating theories. Annual data available from 1950 forward; quarterly data back to 1962.

Compustat Corporate Tracker: Corporate actions database tracks mergers, acquisitions and name changes as far back as 1966. Follows CUSIP, ticker and exchange changes. SIC and CUSIP history from September 1994; ticker and exchange history from 1996 January ; one-time, weekly or monthly updates available.

Compustat Price/Dividend/Earnings (PDE): Market Information on active and/or inactive companies and more than 1,500 industry indices and composites for U.S. and Canadian companies. Canadian PDE is available in Canadian dollars only. The PDE file, available through a separate subscription, includes more than 11,500 inactive U.S. companies with monthly data back to 1962.

Compustat Inactive: Up to 48 quarters of history and up to 132 data items. This database provides data on approximately 6,600 companies that are no longer traded due to acquisition or merger, bankruptcy, leveraged buyout or change of status to a private company. Quarterly Inactive Historical files are also available
through a separate subscription.
