Description

S&P/ASX Industrials & Resources is calculated for specific sector representation for the Australia index series. Index constituents are drawn from eligible companies listed on the Australian Stock Exchange and are determined by the Global Industry Classification Standard (GICS®).

Index constituents exhibit the following characteristics:
  • Underlying Indices – S&P/ASX MidCap 50, S&P/ASX 100, S&P/ASX 200, S&P/ASX 300, S&P/ASX Small Ordinaries
  • Weighting – Market capitalization
  • Public Float – Adjusted for available shares
Index Governance and Policy
This index is maintained by the S&P Australian Index Committee, comprised of five members representing both the Australian Stock Exchange and Standard & Poor's. They follow a set of published guidelines and policies that provide the transparent methodologies used to maintain the indices.

The Global Industry Classification Standard is an industry classification system developed and maintained jointly by Standard & Poor's and Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI).
