Recognizing the financial marketplace's increasing demand for transparency and additional data on developed and emerging markets, Standard & Poor's Compustat has expanded and enhanced its data offerings. The following are available via Compustat Xpressfeed:
Compustat Xpressfeed Data Coverage
Deep company history and a broad range of value-added data items have made Compustat Xpressfeed stand out among competitors. Compustat has responded to the increasing globalization of the financial marketplace by significantly expanding its international data coverage. The data covers 98% of the world's total market cap and provides timely, comparable, objective company-level information on more than 54,000 companiesincluding active and inactive fundamental data for over 24,000 non-U.S. and non-Canadian companies.
Compustat Snapshot
Compustat Snapshot is a new international database of historical non-U.S. and non-Canadian data that will extend the scope of historical analysis and backtesting models to international markets. It enables an analyst to make data observations of the Compustat Global database as it was known at a particular period of time. Backtesters can focus on choosing these observation dates, facilitating greater control over historical quantitative analysis and long-term backtesting for investment strategies and scenario re-creation.
SFAS 157 & 159 Fair Value Measurements
The new SFAS 157 & 159 data will enable analysts to assess the relative reliability of fair value measurements over time for an entity, as well as relative to peer institutions. Compustat has added 10 new supplemental balance sheet data items and one new supplemental income statement item. This is the first database in the marketplace to include this data.
Compustat Analysts’ Notes and Transparency
Compustat increased data transparency by providing an as reported breakout of Compustat's standardized and adjusted items. Customers can easily tie values back to financial statements in a structured format that shows components that were included in the adjustment to an item. In addition, Compustat's data analysts monitor SEC changes and breaking news and evaluate footnotes within financial reports for events that have an impact on the reported numbers. All of this valuable information is subsequently reported within the Compustat analyst notes.
Intraday Delivery
The Xpressfeed database provides timely access to accurate financial intelligence by delivering comprehensive global fundamental and market data in transaction files three times per day to your system. These item-level transactional files capture the current data for Asian, European and North American markets. Xpressfeed's file technology allows for quicker data updates because only new and updated information is included in the filesenabling you to process the data faster with less internal resources, so your financial models can reflect the most current investment climate.
