A managing director in Standard & Poor’s Corporate and Government Ratings Department. Scott now covers a range of finance companies and banks. He recently transferred to S&P’s North American Financial Institutions group from its Industrials department, where he had followed the automotive sector for over 18 years. Scott is also the Chairman of Standard & Poor’s
New Instruments Committee.
Scott joined Standard & Poor’s in 1986 after working in the Consulting Division of Arthur Andersen & Co. in Chicago. He holds an
M.B.A. degree from Northwestern University's J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management (1986) and B.A. and M.A. degrees from the
University of Chicago (1976 and 1980.
