S&P Global Healthcare Shariah

Overview Index News

The S&P Global Healthcare Shariah index is part of the family of S&P Sector & Strategy Shariah index series. The index is comprised of S&P 500, S&P Europe 350 and S&P Japan 500 Shariah-compliant companies that also belong to the GICS® Healthcare Sector. The index represents the largest, most liquid and most representative healthcare companies in the developed markets.

Index constituents exhibit the following characteristics:

  • Underlying Indices – S&P 500, S&P Europe 350 and S&P Japan 500
  • Weighting – Modified capitalization weighting
  • Reconstitution – As needed basis

Index Governance and Policy
The parent index is maintained by S&P Index Committees, whose members include Standard & Poor’s economists and index analysts. Working with the Shariah Supervisory Board and Ratings Intelligence Partners, the Shariah indices follow a set of published guidelines and policies that define the transparent methodologies used to maintain the indices.
