The index is a subset of the S&P Global Challengers List, an annual list of 300 mid-sized companies from around the world that have shown the highest growth characteristics and are expected to emerge as challengers to global blue chips.
The top 40 scoring companies in the S&P Global Challengers List, with sufficient liquidity as well as reasonable market-cap, price and volatility are included in the index. The index is geographically diversified - at most 25 companies and at least 5 companies from each region are included in the index.
Index constituents exhibit the following characteristics:
- Market Capitalization – Between US$ 500 million and US$ 5 billion
- Liquidity – Six-month average daily trading volume greater than US$ 4 million
- Weighting – Equal weighting
- Reconstitution – Annual
Index Governance and Policy
This index is maintained by the S&P Index Committee, whose members include Standard & Poor's economists and index analysts. It follows a set of published guidelines and policies that provide the transparent methodologies used to maintain the indices.
