S&P/TSX 60


S&P/TSX 60 represents the large cap universe for Canada. Offering exposure to 60 large, liquid Canadian companies, this index is the basis for the most highly traded futures contract in Canada. S&P/TSX 60 is a core component of the Canadian indices that could be used as building blocks for portfolio construction. It is also the Canadian component of S&P Global 1200.

Index constituents exhibit the following characteristics:
  • Weighting – Market capitalization
  • Public Float – Adjusted for available shares
Index Governance and Policy
This index is maintained by the S&P Canadian Index Committee, whose members include representatives from both Standard & Poor's and the Toronto Stock Exchange. Committee oversight gives investors the benefit of Standard & Poor's depth of experience, research and analytic capabilities, combined with Toronto Stock Exchange's intimate local industry knowledge. It follows a set of published guidelines and policies that provide the transparent methodologies used to maintain the index.
